Singapore Packaging Star Award 2008 |

13 August 2008- The decade-old Singapore Packaging Star Award championed by the Packaging Council of Singapore (PCS) - a component of SMa- has become an annual event that is highly-anticipated by the Food & Beverage, Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and Transportation industries.
This year, the Environmentally Sustainable Packaging category saw a spike with a doubling in the number of entries. And the eventual winner was grabbed by GRENIDEA Technologies for their flagship product AgroResin - made of renewable agricultural fibre waste that composites within 90-day turning it into organic fertiliser which nourishes the soil.
Scoring high on all areas including environmental performance was last year’s winner- ORIENT DESIGN who was awarded for the Best Commercial category for their “Save The Earth” Name Card Box product that was both appealing and innovative. The product can be further reformed and conveniently delivered by mail.
“It is critical that packaging continues to innovate with the ever-changing business and environmental climate by incorporating corporate responsibility,” said Mr Albert Lim, Chairman of PCS, “minimising any negative impact towards our environment is the right direction in this present age in sustaining our environment”
